Aim:
This training workshop aims to help international researchers gain basic knowledge about research funding schemes in Japan and about research support from University Research Administrators (URA) at Osaka University.

Goals:
1. Participants will be able to obtain basic knowledge of the research landscape and major research funding schemes in Japan, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) especially.
2. Participants will learn basic techniques of grant writing.
3. Participants will be able to learn research support programs provided by Osaka University URAs.

Agenda:
Designed for international faculty who just started their research career in Osaka Univerity, the training workshop will include the following topics:
(1) Career development as international researcher
(2) Landscape of research funding schemes in Japan
(3) Kakenhi and its application
(4) Support available at Osaka University
(5) How to write a good proposal
(6) Questions and experience sharing
